light brown spotting (may be tmi)

The week before I had 5 BFPs on HPTs I thought I had or was getting my period with 5 days of very light brown spotting (mostly on tissue not so much on pad). Memorial Day weekend I got the 5 BFPs and the spotting stopped until today its back, not when I wipe but on a panty liner. I am approximately 5 and half weeks pregnant according to my calculations. I called the doctor, they said light brown spotting is often normal and unless its heavy or lots of red there is little need for concern. My 1st appointment is not until the 15th. What do you think?

I think your doctor is probably right. You aren't experiencing heavy bleeding or painful cramping, so I would try to take it easy. Brown spotting is not a bad sign.

If anything changes call back immediately. Otherwise, try to take it easy for the rest of the day/weekend.

brown spotting is usually just old blood.
i wouldnt worry!

i think i had some of that in teh beginning. its just old blood usually

I had light brown spotting from 5 weeks till 7 weeks, totally normal, you have to worry when its blood n heavy!

I had alot of brown spotting in the beginning. Its common. However i do suggest to try to rest & get your legs up as much as possible. Just in case

at 5.5 weeks I would def say try to wait a little longer until you have to see the dr. the heartbeat won't really kick in until the 6 week mark... and it would be better to go when there would be a heartbeat.

brown is usually an ok thing... esp if there's no cramps combined with it. If you get cramps and it turns red then def call the dr and get yourself in there.
