go to "going out" outfit
So, I am ashamed to admit that sometimes when people ask me to go out - I say no bc I have nothing to wear!
My cousin asked me to come out for drinks in SOHO, or a date night, or a dinner in the city -- and I have NO IDEA what to wear.
So, I want to buy 1-2 simple, nice outfits from head to toe that I can throw on and be ready to go!
I don't go out often (once a month?) so it doesn't matter if I repeat and I don't have to get a million things.
What would you get? Pants? a skirt? dress? What kind of shoes?

In the summer, I usually wear a pair of dressy shorts & a nice top with strappy sandals. Very comfortable & versatile because you can dress the outfit up or down- depending on what jewelry you wear.

I have a pair of going out jeans, a pair of heels, and then I got a couple dressy tops from forever 21 and I change them out, for the summer because it's hotter out I have a pair of black shorts that I also mix and match with the tops and wear a pair of wedges with. Or I have my go to dress from BCBG that I also wear. I say get a nice pair of jeans, and a dress and switch it up!

I like to wear dressy shorts or a cute skirt in the summer. I find Express always has a nice selection of these.
Then for tops Forever 21 is cheap and you can get a few.
Top with some cute strappy sandals and you are good to go!
I have also gotten a lot of cute dresses from Forever 21 for going out in the summer

This is one my favorites. It's my go to because its black and looks good no matter what (even if I'm bloated that day!)

Skinny jeans or leggings with a flowy top. It's always a great combo and then you can dress it up or down with heels/flats and jewelry.

You're welcome! I actually got that one at Target (on the clearance rack a few years ago) but I also have a blue one from Joyce Leslie.
THey aren't the most fantastic quality but since I wear it so little they've lasted!

This sounds a lot like my go-to outfit!
I have a black wrap dress that, depending on the shoes and accessories, I can wear to a ton of different types of events.

go to forever 21. they have lots of dressier cheap things that you can mix and match or dresses , etc. and theyre cheap so u can get a bunch of things! also, h&m has cute cheap stuff too!

I don't get out much myself lately, but I work in Soho and on Friday evenings I get out later- just when young people are starting to go out and I see most women wearing :
-shorts with heels and a cute top
-skinny jeans or regular boot cut jeans (dark blue/navy or black) with heels or flats and a cute top
-short summer dresses with wedge heels
-LOTS of Maxi dresses with dressy flip flops/sandals
