What do you spend on a friend's child's baptism gift?
And do you always give $$ or do you do a gift? Friend is not my BFF - just a friend. Celebration is at a restaurant. Our entire family is invited. I planned on getting a bunch of PB personalized stuff for baby for future use - matching beach towel, beach bag, etc. but is that weird for a baptism gift?

I gave $50 cash... it's the best gift and probably expected (even though no one admits to expecting anything!)  I usually give wrapped presents for birthdays.

$50-$100 check or cash... only gift we ever received for the baptism of the kids, was jewlery from the godparents, (cross, name bracelet, earrings, and the gown)

I always give bonds... usually spend $50 for a $100 bond.

my friends didnt really give money.
they gave frames, jewelry, jewelry holders , lots of things from things remembered
