Are these Braxton hicks contractions?
I keep getting these sharp squeezing pains in my mid belly that last a few seconds. It hurts so badly it stops me in my tracks and nearly brings me to my knees. It only happens when I walk around for more than 10 minutes or so and am hungry, hot, or dehydrated which seems to be all the time now at 32 weeks. When I get the pains they come every few minutes until i sit down and rest.
Are these Braxton hicks? I am not calling the doc unless it dosent go away since they will so send me to the er since it's a holiday weekend and that is their answer for everything.

Re: Are these Braxton hicks contractions?
Braxton Hicks aren't usually painful, just maybe uncomfortable. It seems too frequent to be BH also, if they are happening every minutes. With BH, they should go away if you drink a lot of water (which is really important anyway!) and rest. Try that, and if they don't go away, I would definitely call your doctor. I had a lot of BH in my last pregnancy because I wasn't drinking enough water. When I had one, my whole entire belly would get rock solid, it felt really weird, but never hurt.

Re: Are these Braxton hicks contractions?
I could've asked practically the same question myself Thurs night though mine didn't go away no matter what I did and low and behold I did call and did end up in ER for days this weekend but am only 33 1/2 weeks so since it was pre-term labor they did give me a steroid treatment for baby's lungs etc and prescriptions to stop contractions so even though it was miserable it was worth it.
I guess the crucial Q would be how far along are you"?
