Re: Seeing posts on here got me so excited to take all the stuff from the hospital
Stinky! Had my DS in August of 09 at LIJ New Hyde Park. That hospital was so terrible that I switched doctors for this pregnancy just to be at Winthrop. We did leave LIJ NHP with bags and bags of stuff and I was hopeful to do the same at Winthrop. Hopefully my experience at Winthrop with be 100 times better than at LIJ and I won't care as much about the freebies but it does stink to actually have to buy newborn diapers!!

So strange, I delivered at Winthrop 4 weeks ago and got a ton. I don't know about the formula because I'm not formula feeding, but nose bulbs, diapers, shirts, receiving blankets, pump bottles, and then a huge bag of stuff for me, those medicated wipes dermablast spray, pads, etc. It sucks that they are being so stingy now!!!

I just had my 2nd DD at NSUH Manhasset and DH and I walked out with 2 HUGE shopping bags worth of things. I wonder why some of you didnt! WE didnt even have to ask. Some of the nurses just offered to bring us extra of everything. When I was being discharged one nurse came by with a huge bag of formula and nipples
I delivered at NSUH back in Sept and I sent DH home every night with a bag filled with diapers, formula, wipes, ointment, whatever was in the bassinet.
We were stocked piled and the nurses were more than accommodating when we requested anything.

That stinks!
At Good Sam not only did they tell us to take as much as possible -- they even filled a bag up for us! I guess each hospital is difference.

That's so funny that we got nothing- this was in Feb of last year. Maybe they run low on supplies sometimes and get cheapo? We literally left during a SNOWSTORM and specifically asked if we could take a few rtf home bc I planned on bfing but then needed to supplement and they said no! I asked my sil to stop at the store for us before we got home!
I did get a cute blanket in a bag at the tour though about 2 months prior and also I did get his newborn hat but I made sure to tuck it into my bag asap.
