My bed and WTD?

My bed and WTD?

So, when we moved into our house we bought a semi cheap bedroom set ($1700 for the whole thing). We couldn't find anything we liked so we bought furniture to hold us over.

We are coming up on 2 years in our house and both of our backs are killing us. We have a Bob O Pedic, but the frame of the bed isn't strong enough to support the weight of the mattress.

WWYD? We have the money to buy a new complete set but that means basically junking what we have (its a king set and we don't have room for it anywhere else). Should I just buy a bed to hold us over for a few more years? Plus I still don't see anything out there I'm dying for?

Re: My bed and WTD?

Can you sell just the bed frame you have?

What about getting a new frame that supports the mattress and DIYing yourself a headboard?

That support thing might help. But honestly, if you really don't see anything else you like, why not just get a new frame and see if that helps? You should be able to use the same headboard w/a new frame.

I have the same problem as you do. I also have those supports and they have done nothing to improve the bed frame, support, comfort. They are actually pretty annoying b/c they come loose all the time and DH has to crawl under the bed and hammer them back into place!

Re: My bed and WTD?

I would go to Ikea and get a platform bed and put the Bob o pedic on top of it.
