Re: Biophysicals/Non StressTests
ive been going for them weekly since 34 weeks due to my GD.
the non stress test - you lay on a table and they put 2 velcro bands around your stomach. it listens to the baby's heart. you get to hear it for like 20 minutes. then it prints out a sheet like an EKG for the baby. it monitors th ebaby's heart rate. i know some people have to hit a button every time they feel the baby move but i dont, i just lay there for 20 minutes and read a book.
biophysical - its an external sono. they check the amniotic fluid and they check the movement of the baby's legs and arms. they never give me pics though from those. they just look and send me on my way

Re: Biophysicals/Non StressTests
I had my first one last week, and I would suggest making sure you are very hydrated and try not to eat too much sugar beforehand. I had a bad experience where they caught my baby at a time when it had a really high HR and it almost ended in a c-section. Luckily they gave me IV fluids and time first and everything calmed down. I went for one again yesterday and it was no big deal at all.

Re: Biophysicals/Non StressTests
I started having them at 28 weeks because I'm having twins.
One of my also has a slightly dilated kidney as well. I was told that it should clear up once he's born. I hope they told you the same!
