I think you should think of it as a party for her arrival. The guest of honor will now be her, not you. She just won't be in attendance. I think it would be amazing to get together with your friends and family to celebrate your DD. I agree!!! Definitely have it! I think it's still kind of like a shower since your baby isn't actually home yet. Its the same thing except she isn't in your belly. It's a cute party in her honor!

I was in your shoes last year. Baby came at 31w6d, spent a month in the NICU.
My baby shower was when DS was 2 weeks old. He was still in the NICU. I went to the NICU in the morning, went home after Noon to get dressed and then went to the baby shower. We had some large pics printed of DS to post around the room so everyone could see pics of him. Everybody was so happy for us and it was a true celebration of the baby.
I agree that you should definitely have it. There are a lot of emotions for you now, but trust that everyone in your circle of family and friends is truly happy for you and for your baby. They love you and want to celebrate this true gift. Let them.
