Body Issues

Do you ladies worry about how DH is feeling about your new "preggo body"? My DH is wonderful and never makes me feel anything less than beautiful but I am so critical of myself. I am starting to feel very self aware.
I am 29 weeks and up 23 pounds but was about 12 lbs over my ideal weight to begin with.
I love me belly (and so does DH) but as I watch the numbers go up on the scale I am starting to worry about how my body is changing and how DH feels about this. I hope this is all in my head because I married a wonderful man who loves me for me. I wish I could shut off my negative thoughts.
Anyone else feel like this? Is this a normal worry about this?

Thanks in advance :)

Re: Body Issues

I am feeling very uncomfortable with my body changes and it makes me feel insecure. I had already gained a lot pre-pregnancy so now I am just hating the extra weight. DH always tells me he loves my body and I look beautiful, but its just in my own head.

Re: Body Issues

I had an eating disorder in my late teens/early 20s and have never had a belly in my life. I'm really surprised that I am loving my growing belly. I'm so conscience of eating enough and eating the right things for my baby. The baby's health is my #1 priority. My DH gets such a kick out of seeing me with a belly loves that it's our baby growing in there.

I am sure, without a doubt, that your DH will love the pregnant you even more. It's the best ever reason for seeing these changes in your body.Chat Icon

Re: Body Issues

Im terrified what he will think. He has been deployed since I was 7 weeks (I am now 25w4d) and does not return until Im 30 weeks. Hes not the most affectionate guy and Im so nervous that he wont know how to react when he sees me.Chat Icon I send him a weekly cell phone shot but its nothing like the real thing. I know *I* am not happy with the changes, how can he be? Thats just how I feel.

In fact I had a dream last night that I went to visit him and he didnt want to have sex with me. As stupid as it was because it was a dream, I woke up feeling emotional and nervous about it. I emailed him about it and he told me I was crazy.Chat Icon I told him no matter how he feels, he better at least act like he wants me as much as I want himChat Icon

I guess we will find out in 5 weeks.

Same exact thing here. I think it's normal to be a bit more insecure with your body now. I'm trying to impress my body, and I love my belly and my bigger boobies...it's just hard seeing that number go up and up and my thighs are getting bigger and look like they have cellulite now. boooo

I'm sure your hubby doesn't see what you see or imagine. It's more in your head. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Body Issues

DH loves my pregnant body. I actually do too! You have to embrace it because you cannot control it!!
Think of the beautiful life you have growing inside you!

Granted, I almost died yesterday when I got on the scale at the dr, but remember ladies, a TON of the weight comes off pretty much right away. Your shape will be forever changed, but you will be a mommy!!!!! Its sooo worth it!

Re: Body Issues

My DH is great! He tells me I'm beautiful all the time. I love being pregnant, but I sometimes feel like I'm not in my own body. My belly is growing and I'm usually very small. It's weird to have this extra weight. I'm slowing down and getting exhausted.

I try and avoid scales! Chat Icon

Re: Body Issues

My DH is wonderful with this. Im only 7 weeks and Im constantly saying things like, "Ugh, I'm going to be so hideous when Im bigger. You're not even going to want to have sex with me" He reassures me that I'll be even MORE beautiful when Im bigger and that pregnant women are sexy Chat Icon He always makes it all better Chat Icon The only time I honestly will feel self conscious (as a PP said) is during sex. Im already self conscious as it is imagine how I'd feel with a big belly Chat Icon

Re: Body Issues

i dont worry about this at all. DH has made it perfectly clear before i even got preg that he finds a preg girl attractive.
he has never said anything negative to me or makes me feel that i should be ashamed of my body. its not like you are changing just to change...you are growing his child in there ya know.

i'm 34.5 weeks and up 16lbs and Dh calls me fatty all the time lol we have a very "bust your chops" type of relationship so to us its fun and games with the weight

Re: Body Issues

Just this week, 21w, am I feeling big. I have only gained @ 7pds but my belly is really rounding out. On the one hand I am nervous that I will look huge but on the other I am excited.

My DH loves it and is so excited for the baby so that part is fine....

I think the part that is worrying me is the losing it after part...Chat Icon

Re: Body Issues

DH is wonderful about everything. He reassures me all the time that I look beautiful. Just yesterday when I was feeling down and out he told me I am getting more beautiful everyday.Chat Icon I am just having a hard time adjusting to my body changing. I usually always watch what I eat and try to stay in decent shape so to see the scale going up and knowing it is out of my control and I need to gain weight is hard for me to adjust to.
