Re: spray tanning

I love it! I haven't tanned in a bed in years. I don't recommend the booths though- definitely do one where you get sprayed by a person. It comes out streaky in the booths.

ETA: I suggest checking out Beach Bum's custom airbrush tanning!

I suggest going to someone who sprays it on you not in a booth.

As for Beds -- I don't ever tan in a bed. So bad for you.

I couldn't agree more! I worked in a tanning salon back in college when Mystic came out, learned all the "tricks of the trade" and I still had a few streaks no matter what!

But Beach Bums custom air brush came out perfect! If you choose to go this route you must remember:
-Exfoliate like mad before you go
-No lotions/spayas/etc on your body before you go!!!
-You can not get wet (AT ALL) 8 hrs after the spray, so plan your day accordingly!!! (I went in the morning and did nothing that day. The bronzer was caking in my neck and other various folding areas of my skin. I looked like a freak. But after I showered it looked great!)
-Wear dark, loose clothes, because the bronzer that shows the sprayer where they sprayed comes off a bit

I totally agree with all of the above. I haven't been in a tanning bed in over a year and I don't think I ever will again. I went on Saturday night, wore loose clothing, went to bed, and showered when I woke up Sunday morning. I love the way it looks!! The only place I have any streaky color is on my thumbs, but thats my fault for not following instructions.

What do you mean by exfolite?? Do you mean with a scrub?

Re: spray tanning

Yes exfoliate but make sure you use a real grainy, scrub, especially around elbow and knees. If you don't exfoliate you will look orange bc its the dead skin that turns orange. After your next shower make sure to use lotion too.....it extends the tan.

I use this stuff everytime before I get spray tanned and it comes out great.
Tree Hut Scrub They sell it at Ulta and I used to see it in Walmart too but not in awhile. Its such an awesome body scrub and smells awesome.

The place I go to offers light, medium, and dark spray. I always get the light. They apply a special lotion to your hands and feet so it doesn't get too dark in those areas.
I go to Del Sol in Holbrook on Union Ave.

I wear a black thong and nope, it looks a little grimey right after you get sprayed but it comes out in the wash. I don't wear a bra after I'm sprayed though, I feel like it's too tight.

Yupp. You can wear something up top if you'd like, but I don't like the lines it gives me. But underwear is required.

ETA: It's a girl spraying you and the girl at my place is so nice, she chats away while spraying my boobs. Chat Icon

Ditto. I went just last week 6 months preggo and all. The girl who sprayed me said that she has been spraying so many more pregnant women lately.
Afterwards wear loose fitting clothing. I wore sweats and a tshirt bc it was late didn't care who saw me leaving.

Re: spray tanning

Another thing (a lot of the other girls posted)--if you go in the morning, deodorize and put on any liquid makeup on BEFORE you get sprayed. You can't put deodorant on when you leave because will leave mark on your armpit!

I recommend doing spray tan in the evening, going in sweats with no makeup on. It sounds weird but my place recommended that I sleep with socks on my hands---when you sleep, you put your hands on your face, on your legs, etc. and you don't want to rub it off your body! Then you simply shower in the morning and you are already to show off your tan!
