Milk protein and soy sensivity - which rice cereal
My DD is about to be 5 months and the ped said we can start on the rice cereal. I was looking at the gerber rice cereal and noticed it had a few soy ingredients in it. I have eliminated all dairy and soy in my diet due to a milk protein allergy (and also possibly soy) so I don't want to give her soy in the cereal.
For those of you in a similar situation what brand of rice cereal did you feed your DC? There were no other brands where I was shopping, but I haven't looked anywhere else yet. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!

Don't use Gerber. They use a lot of soy fillers. Almost put DS in the hospital. We started with Earths Best and then Switched to Beech Nut. DS had a severe milk protein and Soy allergy. Both have no dairy or soy. We found beech Nut to be just as good as Earth's Best and a lot cheaper!!! Rice may bind her up. I alternated between rice cereal and oatmeal.. Good luck...

Thank you! I will have to look for those brands - I had looked at Target, but Gerber was the only one they had fir rice cereal.
Interesting about the oatmeal. Our ped said only to give rice and that the other cereals were hard to digest.

My son has has milk allergy too..the gasto recommended Beechnut. They have the rice and oatmeal. You can get Beechnut in King Kullen and I think Stop and Shop. Not in Target! Good Luck

We bought it in Pathmark and King Kullen. Walmart has it too. I am a big Target shopper and its sucks that they don't carry it...
He never had a problem digesting it! Rice is very binding... If you only want to do Rice, try mixing it with prunes....

Beechnut is not made with soy. That's the only brand I used for my DS who had a soy and milk sensitivity.
