Anyone Else Have This Symptom...
I'm praying someone else has this that can tell me I'm not gonna die or go into early labor... I've been having pelvic pain and pressure that gets worse by the day. (This is my 2nd child.) It's at the point where I almost feel like my v*gina and pelvic bone are bruised and shattered. Excruciating to walk, get up and down... I just saw the doctor yesterday who said it's nothing out of the ordinary and there's nothing he can do, but that if I'm in that much pain he'd suggest going on bedrest. I'm 31.5 weeks.
Anyone experience this? Know if it means early labor? Have advice on whether to cave in and go on bedrest?
Help!!!

Re: Anyone Else Have This Symptom...
I started with a similar pain at around the same time...it was not constant though. I described it as a knife stabbing me in my hoo ha! When I asked the doc he told me it was baby burrowing his head and dropping in to position. He told me it was only going to get worse as the weeks passed and he was right! It stops me dead in my tracks sometimes! I am now 39 wks....put your feet up when you can!

Re: Anyone Else Have This Symptom...
Your doc seems pretty blase about this... Did your doc measure the length of your cervix?
I had that pressure and my peri-natologist took it pretty seriously. It turned out I had a shortened cervix. I had to go on bedrest and my cervix length shot back up. Whenver I do too much, it shortens and I FEEL it shortened by having that pain/pressure. In fact, I'm on modified bedrest again and feel better when I'm on bedrest.
I would ask him about your cervix length. If he doesn't have that answer for you, can you see another doc or ask to go see a peri-natologist?
If he DID measure the cervix length and still feels everything's okay, then I guess it's just "normal" pain.
Good luck and feel better!

Re: Anyone Else Have This Symptom...
My friend just had that when she was about the same - 32 weeks or so. Her OB referred her to a high risk doctor who referred her to a chiropractor I think. It was some type of tendon or ligament pain coming from her hip actually. (It wasn't the round ligament). There was nothing they could do for her other than have her rest. They told her she would have it for the rest of her pregnancy and it should subside after the baby was born. She said it felt better after a week of resting. She just had her baby and in recent times she wasn't complaining at all about the pain and actually she resumed walking daily.

Yes!!! It is my 2nd pregnancy as well (didn't have this the first time around) and its awful!! I actually thought something was very wrong but I talked to my midwives and each time I got that its normal and aol you can do is to rest. Weird thing is that I feel it the MOST when I am resting/trying to sleep in bed at night. I'm 30wks and have been having it for a little while now, I feel its worse when I squat/pick up DS and so forth no advice I guess just I feel where you're coming from and you're not alone!

I had a sono that day, but before I saw the doctor. The sono tech (who's very good) said that they usually don't measure the cervix after 30 weeks... I didn't bother asking the doctor after that, but maybe I should have. I have been wondering about my crevical length because, like you said, I feel like I can actually feel the baby being too low... Does that make sense?
