I'm town of Huntington & our deadline was this past tuesday for Dec 2011- Nov2012. taxes What town are you part of?
There was a form to fill out & we had to provide a copy of our appraisal & copy of our closing statement... not sure what happens next, I'm assuming we'll getting a letter telling us if they will lower or not..

im town of hempstead and dont own the home yet. ut i was told i can start to grieve them if i am in contract??

It seems odd to me that you don't have to own the house in order to grieve property taxes, but then again, the online process really doesn't ask for any proof of ownership so,

Yes - you can grieve the taxes if you are a "contract vendee."
You missed the latest deadline for the 12/13 appeals (March of 2011). You now have to wait for January of 2012 to file a 2013/14 protest.
