Maternity Clothes- Sale at Destination Maternity
Just an FYI Destination Maternity has a big sale going on until tomorrow. I believe the sale is valid is on line as well as at store locations. So Im a little bit confused about how to shop for maternity clothes
The sizing chart at destination maternity basically says, if you were i.e. a L pre pregnancy order a size large in maternity-- but will that size large fit throughout the pregnancy i.e. my secnod AND third tri? Or are you supposed to get different sizes for each trimester , or generally as you get bigger?
MY EDD is Dec 16th.. I want to purchase some stuff for the fall and winter bc they are so cheap (on sale) now.. but I dont know what size to get for then!?
I feel like its also tough to get stuff on line, even for now, bc I cant tell how it would fit but On line seems to have a greater selection and better sales !!!

Re: Maternity Clothes- Sale at Destination Maternity
I still have to coordinate with you!
I'll tell you this - I was always a size 4 or 6 to start (well before DS1) then maybe 6-8 for DS2 and was 6 or so before this baby. By the end of my pregnancies I am easily a size LARGE.
Not sure how you're gaining. With my first 2 I gained 60lbs total - and I think 7lbs in one wk with one of them toward the end (water weight) With this one I'm 18-19 wks and up about 5-7lbs. I think Key West finally helped me gain a bit.

Thanks! Yes, let me know if this weekend works for you, or perhaps next. I can even have DH pick it up during the week. Just FM what works for you.
So Im still confused though, should I be getting one set of *(larger) size maternity items for the whole pregnancy or am I supposed to be getting different sizes as I grow..
Also if Im an 8/10 pre pregnancy how do I know what size to get in maternity without trying the clothes on -- or do I just need to try them on.
I dont know why I am so confused about this! lol

Re: Maternity Clothes- Sale at Destination Maternity
I was a medium before i got pregnant and bought all medium stuff and i had no problem fitting in everything for my entire pregnancy - i used the bella band till about 20 weeks when i really popped and used it to help hold maternity pants up in the beginning

Maternity clothes are built to "grow" with your growing belly. They are spandexy and elasticy and rouched and stretchy and all those wonderful things. So you would stay one size throughout the pregnancy. I woukd try things on in the beginning at least though, so you know what size fits you best. HTH!

Re: Maternity Clothes- Sale at Destination Maternity
Pre-Pregnancy I was a size 4. I started out in a medium by 5 months Medium didn't fit. I am also the size of a house and have more cellulite than a weight watchers meeting but I did have to go up a size.

I seem to be growing exponentially as well. Carbs and sweets overload will do that to you i guess. So I guess there is no exact science to it.
Have you been craving a lot of Bacon Cheeseburgers ?

Re: Maternity Clothes- Sale at Destination Maternity
I actually went into the store and bought a few things. my EDD is 12/20 and I asked the same thing. they said buy your normal size. problem for me is I wore size 0 which is close to xsmall but not really. I bought some things for now and I found a few things on clearnace for the winter all for under $10!

destination maternity, and I hit macys they have a small mootherhood store/section. xs-petite was pretty good. I def have a lot of room in them so I know they should make it until the end. the mootherhood work pants were so cheap $30!! so if I have to buy them again I don't mind. the quality is not great, after 2 washings they are starting to pile so I might invest in some better quality ones, like pea in a pod. I bought 2 pairs of pea in a pod jeans they were each around $100. both are amazing. one has the built in band thing and the other paid has a regular waist but adjustable sides. even in the xs they are still way to big and baggy on me, but I hope I will grow into them. they are really nice looking and they have a few tears in them, like my normal jeans.
I might buy a pair or 2 of size 2 or 4 jeans until they fit me non maternity
Are you xsmall too? its REALLY hard to find! don't even consider gap or old navy, way to big! and kohls won't fit either

I was a size 2-4 Pre-pregnancy. I wore size xs and s my entire pregnancy right until the very end. I never needed to go up in sizes. Maternity clothing will grow with you!

Re: Maternity Clothes- Sale at Destination Maternity
I had the same questions.. and just ended up going to the store and trying a bunch of stuff on
I found that its the same as with regular clothes.. in some things i'm an M, in some things i'm a L and a few i'm an XL. It really depends on the item you're trying on
But maternity clothes are generally made stretchy and will expand a bit with you. I wouldn't buy anything that is tight on you now, especially around the boobs because you know those will grow more.
The motherhood maternity tshirts are really great, and much cheaper than the pea in a pod equivalents!
I went there a few weekends ago and spent 2 hours trying on almost every pair of jeans there - but i came away with 5 good pairs (3 regular, 2 capris) that i know will last me for the whole pregnancy (i'm 21 weeks now)
