Just bought this and LOVE it. have a few weddings coming up and wondering if it's OK to wear it.

Beautiful dress! I said other because I would like it better for a night wedding than a day wedding. That's just my taste though!

At different times and from different people I've been told that white (obviously), red and black shouldn't be worn to weddings.
Black is fine as far as I'm concerned - again white is a big no-no unless the couple ask everyone to wear white.
Not sure why red has come up, I think because you don't want to steal attention from the bride. My bridesmaids wore red and I don't have an issue with it, just wanted to make sure I'm not missing a piece of etiquette.

I would not wear red if it was an asian wedding (indian, chinese, ect) otherwise I would. GREAT dress btw

Not in my culture (I am Russian Jewish), but I personally only found out about it when my sister mentioned how inappropriately one of our mom's friends was dressed for my wedding. When I asked my sister why she thought so she said "Well, who in their right mind would wear red to a a wedding!!!"
So, i guess it's fine otherwise!

I love colors at a wedding. Looks so nice. I get tired of the black dresses after a while and love to look for a fun color to wear.
My BM's wore red.

DH's ex (who is now a family member...dont ask) wore an extravagent red gown with a train...I let it go and barely noticed the day of the wedding. It wasnt until a couple of weeks after the wedding that it hit me and it turns out his whole family thought that she was obviously looking for attention. Apparently she had called DH before the wedding to ask if it was ok she wear a red gown, why ask him what does he know, she should have asked me! Whatever I probably would have said it was ok anyway.
Ok I just went off on a tantrum...what I meant to say is that dress is adorable and yes very appropriate. Although it is red, it is not flashy.

Ditto... my BMs wore orange...
as far as wearing black ... im always guilty of it myself... im on ebay right now looking for dresses for my cousins wedding July 1st... i wont even look at the dress if its black lol
