People need to keep their mouth shut
Part 1,000,542
I'm 32w5d, and admittedly, have started to really pop the past week or so. I've always carried low, because physically I'm capable of it. I'm 5'10", and my height is mainly from my torso, not my legs, and the doctors have always told me that when a baby doesn't HAVE to be jammed up in your ribs, they'll hide out low, so this is completely normal for someone with my build.
However, my ignorant coworkers, many of whom have never had children, have taken to telling me all week that I've "dropped", and I'm "going to pop this weekend". Which gets me really upset because A) who likes being told they're huge and B) given how far along I am, that would be really scary and possibly dangerous. Not saying that just because they don't have children they're ignorant, because obviously there's plenty of woman who don't who are very well informed, but they aren't well informed on this at all and it's only making me have seedlings of doubt and panic, even though I know that the doctors have never once showed any concern at all about this.
Ugh. My one huge fear is premature labor, and to have everyone feeding in to it and putting it out there in the universe is starting to make my superstitious freaky side come out

Re: People need to keep their mouth shut
Alex you need to educate them then. Tell them if they have never been pregnant and have had as many Dr.'s appts as you then they really arent informed enough to speak about this. Then let them know that it isnt easy to hear people saying that you are going to go into labor early & have a pre-mature baby. As a pregnant person thats the scariest thing to hear & would appreciat ethem not saying things like that. PERIOD

Ugh. You're right! They do need to just shut up!
This is actually funny because I'm on the opposite end! I'm 5'0", and there is NOWHERE for this baby to go but up into my ribs!
So now I'm 40 weeks, 1 day and I have people telling me...OMG! You don't even look close to being ready! The baby is way too high!
I totally understand how you are feeling. People are so ignorant sometimes!

Re: People need to keep their mouth shut
People keep telling me I'm small and I was concerned so I ask my OB about it and he said that when people see a preggo they are just compelled to say something or comment and they should just say "hello."
