What should I wear? Its at a Chinese buffet if that matters (and I dont think it should, not to start unrelated  )

Yep.
I'd dress like I did for work.
Ditto. My cousin's Communion was at a VFW hall with just sandwiches and stuff- nothing fancy. I wore one of my work dresses.
