Did you have heartburn in your first trimester?

I swear I dont remember this with DS until much later but I have constant heartburn...even water gives me heartburn!

i started getting it occasionally around 11wks....now at 14 weeks its really bad

YES!!! OMGGG YES!! It was so bad.. I couldn't eat a morsel and not want to bring it back up... horrible, horrible heartburn and indigestion. It has curbed a bit now.. but I still get it every so often. Cold milk, ice cream, ginger ale (and burp it out) helped a little.

Sip everything.. I found seltzer easier to drink than water though.. feel better.

Yes!!! Its been really awful. Water is the absolute worst for me! Ive been eating so many Tums it cannot be good for me.

yes!! really bad early on too. starting at like 6-7 weeks, i would get it all day, every day. it got much better around 9 weeks. but i know it will be back again. my dr said tums are okay. i found that milk helps too, if you like to drink milk.

I got it in my first trimester, and still have it now. I get it usually at certain points throughout the day.

Tums helps!

Never had HB in my life until becoming pregnant!

Yes. The absolute worst! And terrible indigestion Everyone seemed so surprised that I was suffering so early but it has eased a little in the 2nd tri and I am eating really bland food now too.

Yep - BUT I've had issues with it for years before pregnancy.

Gaviscon is chalky but works better than Tums.

Pepcid and Zantac are ok to take.

Currently, I'm on a prescription med from my Gastro that works like a dream.

i didnt get heartburn until way later on end of 2nd trimester
i get it everday now, somedays more than others...i drink a lot of water and i feel water makes it worse...

tums, and milk are the only thing that helps, some days that doenst even work.

With DD1, the heartburn didnt come until I was in the 30 week range.
With DD2, it started IMMEDIATELY. Like i was barely pregnant and it was in full force. EVerything gave me heart burn, even water. My chest and shoulders would even hurt so bad. Not fun!

Um yes, heartburn was one of my first clues that I was pregnant. In week 8 it calmed down a bit but I still get it about once a week.

I had it towards the end of the 1st tri... but moreso in the 2nd tri.

I take a pepcid AC pill every night. I take tums as needed and i drink milk as needed.

If I need a pepcid AC pill during the day, I'll take another one.

oh yeah and now in my third trimester I feel like I'm having a heart attack!

Not in the first tri for me, but saliva is a natural cure. If you need help getting saliva ...chew gum.

Water, food etc will stir up stomach acids more

Yup! And it's even worse in my third trimester. My well being depends on Tums - (the smoothies kind is the best).

Yes- awful. It actually got much better 2nd tri (so far).
