I'm so torn, I don't know what to do

My 36 week visit yesterday, baby went from transverse to breech. I have been seeing Dr. Jurak all along and my last appt and yesterdays she wasn't available so I saw Dr. Judge. 2 weeks ago Dr Judge told me ds was transverses and yesterdays sono he was breech. Dr Judge told me he can attempt to turn him so dh and I wanted him to try. He told me to come in to labor and delivery today to do it-that he's on call.

We get there and nobody knows I'm coming. So they get me in, get admitted go in a room on a monitor, do the history and everything else and 45 min later Jurak walks in. Judge is on call tomorrow not today. Regardless-I'm here so we talk to her.

Jurak says I don't meet her requirements to be turned where Judge says I meet his.

Jurak said that I can come back tomorrow and have Judge do it (like planned). I was under the assumption the baby wouldn't turn on his own but she reassured me he still can (and even talking to people they have had them turn too). So I've decided to wait until my appt on Wed when I'll be 37 weeks to see if maybe he turned. Then I still have a decision to make. Also I could meet Juraks requirements. I'm absolutely in no rush to do this now that I know I still have some time.

I just feel so torn- If 1 dr says I meet the requirements and the other dr says I don't meet thiers, which do I go with? The dr I've been seeing all along or the dr I've only seen a few times.

I know the risks with doing it so that has nothing to do with my decision, I'm just Chat Icon what to do. Of course I know there is no guarantee it would work but there's a chance and I'm all about a chance.

What would you do?

I'm no expert and I have no idea how painful trying to turn the baby is, if at all, but I would wait till your appointment next week. I was breech for my mother until 2 weeks before I arrived and turned on my own.

i'd be irritated by the difference in opinion. I assume the Drs practice together, you'd think they'd consult with each other about your situation.

I think that an attempt to turn the baby is probably the safest @ L&D, but keep in mind that there ARE chiropractors that can work wonders too.

If *I* was in your shoes, I'd probably go to L&D tomorrow and let him attempt to do the version - but definitely pack your hospital bag for the car, just in case.

Good luck Chat Icon

Wow. I really can't say. I don't know enough about turning and the risks. How do they turn? What are the risks? Knowing that I would be able to make a better decision on whether to do it or not.

I'm also breech as of now, but i'm almost 33 weeks. IDK how this is going to play out.

If it were me I would wait. I had a friend whose baby flipped around at 38 weeks.

With 3-4 weeks to go I'd still give baby some time to do it on his own.

Good luck!

The procedure you are referring to is a version right? If that's the case, there is no way in I would undertake that procedure unless it was to the detriment of you or the baby. Not to freak you out but that procedure is extremely painful and there is absolutely no guarantee it will work. If I were you and it was an option to wait and see, I would do that.

I would wait. You still have 4 weeks left to go. What's there to lose in waiting?

I would wait. The baby could turn at any time.

Re: I'm so torn, I don't know what to do

DS was breech from 28 weeks on. They gae me the option to do a version in my 37th week, but NOT before then because there is a chance it can put you into labor (or create an emergent situation). Mine was done in the hospital while being monitored with a sono. It was uncomfortable, but not the worst experience ever. It didn't work, DS was way too far down in my pelvis, but I'm happy I tried. I had a scheduled c/s at 39 weeks and will likely have the same with this one. FM me if you have any other specific questions Chat Icon

I want to take the chance. Of course it's not guaranteed. I go back to the dr on Wed so I'll see how things are then.

I'm just so confused on the drs lol. I want to see my regular dr but I also want to see the other one. lol. I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too!

Dr. Judge is an amazing doctor and I kind of go by whatever he says. I have only met with Dr. Jurak once so I can't say too much. They definitely should have spoken to each other about your situation. I would go back to L&D and see what he can do. I trust him 100%.
