Re: Bottle Warmers

I never had one with DD and she was breastfed and formula fed and it was absolutely fine, i think of them like wipe warmers---un-nessecary but that's just me.

Re: Bottle Warmers

We have this:

External Image

Zojirushi Micom 3.0-Liter Electric Airpot Water Boiler

DH got it for me for Christmas maybe 3 years ago and it's AWESOME. I use it all the time to make tea, hot chocolate, etc.

Now, I fill a large mug (one of those oversize ones) with boiling water from it and stick the bottle in for 4-5 minutes (when it's from the fridge... less if it's already from room temp) and it's perfect.

I know it's more expensive than a bottle warmer, but it's SO VERSATILE. I highly recommend it. I never was going to heat bottles but started to because my dad told me I was giving DD an ice cream headache and cramps by not warming the bottles. He's a doctor so I believed him although I think he may have been exaggerating.

I have the Avent one and it works great, but so does an oversized mug with boiling water.

Re: Bottle Warmers

DS was bottle fed and we never used one. In fact, we didnt heat up his bottles. They were always with room temperature water.

Re: Bottle Warmers

I am using the RTF formula and I always heat up the bottles. I have a keurig coffee maker and I just fill a glass cup with hot water from the keurig and stick the bottle in the glass for a few minutes.

I thought about buying the bottle warmer but once I am done using the RTF formula I am going to be using room temp water to mix the bottles and will not need to use the warmer so for me it would have been a waste of money.

Re: Bottle Warmers

I never had one and I EBF DS. I did give him pumped milk from time to time or frozen milk that I defrosted but I just put it in a cup of hot water to warm up and take the chill out.

Re: Bottle Warmers

I didnt have one but then in Feb we went away for a few days so we bought the babypro one for $20 to take with us. I don't know how I ever lived without it. I use it all the time now and it heats the bottles in a minute.

I had a bottle warmer in his room when we switched DS to RTF. It had a cooler in the back to keep the RTF cold until we were ready to warm it up. If the formula wasn't cold, we gave it to him room temperature.

Re: Bottle Warmers

I didn't buy one at first because I thought it was a waste and didn't want to see it on the counter. I am against microwaving bottles and plastics because of the chemicals and using hot water in a glass took forever! DD would start in and scream because it took so long so I went to get one and it is so much faster!

I never had one with DS.....we used the paytex drop in's and warmed it up with hot tap water.

What I do love is the wipe warmer.
