Ladies who have registered

I'm not registering until after our Level II but I know that there are some helpful books that help parents-to-be with registering. Can you recommend the one you used?

TIA

Re: Ladies who have registered

Baby Bargains (the one that came out this April) helped a lot.

I also read the Modern Girls Guide to Motherhood and she had some good suggestions in there too.

I didn't use any books, but I found Amazon.com to be extremely helpful b/c they have virtually everything, and everything has reviews from real parents who have used the products...I spent several late nights reading all the reviews on amazon and used that to decide what I wanted...

Baby bargains!!!!!

Yes!

I also originally planned on waiting until after the level II but after I got the book and started researching I did start registering for things that I would get in a neutral color anyway. I have a lot left to do once we know the sex and I am sure I will change things but it was helpful to research some big things like car seats, strollers etc and get the registry started. Thanks. I want to get it soon so I can start doing my research -- I think we are doing gender neutral for all the big stuff, but I'm not sure yet.

Good luck on finding out!

It's a book - they come out w/ a new edition every year. They rate all baby products based on cost, safety, use, etc.

It's amazing. It was my bible when I was registering.

Re: Ladies who have registered

I found the most helpful was going with someone and not having to read books. My sister was my lifesaver.

I'd take along another Mommy with you. ( & not your Mom b/c things have changed Chat Icon, i brought my Mom and she was like "what do you need that for!")

Re: Ladies who have registered

and definitely register @ buybuybaby - they are SO much more helpful than BRU, they'll walk you through everything. They seriously hold your hand if you want it.

Baby Bargains is the best. The Consumer's Report book was just ok, I would say I could have definitely done without it.

Ditto! Also don't follow their guide to the "T" bc you really don't need a sterilizer, 7 sheets, a wipe warmer, 10 receiving blankets, 15 bibs, etc.

Get a few of each category bc you can always go back and get more after you realize what works for you.

Re: Ladies who have registered

The baby bargains book is great! I got it on Amazon for pretty cheap.

The newest version just came out in April.

ETA: We haven't registered yet - we might try to get started tomorrow.
