Holy Shortness of Breath!

I'm now 31 weeks and really starting to notice a serious increase in shortness of breath...sometimes, it stops me dead in my tracks.

I work in an emergency room and had one of the ER doctors listen to my heart rate the other night which was a little fast but my pulse ox was fine. I know it's pregnancy related, but is anyone else feeling like the wind is knocked out of them at times???

Will def. discuss when I go for my 32 week appt on Tuesday with my doctor as well..

For someone that was in pretty good shape prior to pregnancy, I can't walk the stair in the subway without losing my breath or talk on the cell phone and walk at the same time without huffing and puffing and I am 10w.

Re: Holy Shortness of Breath!

the same thing started happening to me during weeks like 32-36...its because the baby was getting bigger and pushing up into my lungs...it gradually started getting better within the last two weeks...stairs and hills are still problematic but they have been the entire pregnancy...

I feel like this all the time. Nowadays i don't do much but lay around since I'm on pelvic rest and many times I find myself gasping for air just sitting here

Sorry you ladies are dealing with this too, but also glad I'm not alone! I'm carrying really high with Chat Icon so hopefully it will get better as time goes on and she moves down a bit!

Re: Holy Shortness of Breath!

Omg thank god I'm not alone. I literally am dealing with this right now. I'm 31 weeks and called the dr yesterday about it because I was getting dizzy too. Well around 2 they made me come in they ran all the tests to check if I'm getting enough oxygen and to check my lungs and also check the baby and everything came out perfect! So the dr said it could just be normal anxiety or just where the baby is sitting(because he is already head down and the LO is a great kicker haha). So she said just go home and relax she actually put me on bed rest for the rest of the week just to rest. When I got home I was very uncomfortable I couldnt sit up leaning forward bc I really couldn't breathe so that scared me but I noticed that the only comfortable position right noe is laying down. So I'm definitely taking advantage of relaxing. I do feel so much better knowing you girls are feeling the same way. Thank you and sorry so long.
