The deal is done...
Our house is sold!
They asked for $4500 for the roof, and that we fix the plumbing in the basement, our expense.
We counteroffered with $2k off the price of the house.
They came back and demanded $4k. We said no. To make the sale happen, our realtor is kicking in the additional $2k out of her commission.
Part of me feels bad, and part of me doesn't. This is the 6th house we've sold/bought through her in 5 years, plus another 3 houses we've given to her in referrals. And, on top of that, she did an absolutely PITIFUL job with the short sale negotiations for the house we just purchased in the fall. So poorly that DH and I had to intervene on a number of occasions to avoid getting ripped off. I don't think we will ever be using her again.
Now, the only problem is they pushed back the closing date ANOTHER 3 days to June 7. We don't have ANY bathrooms or a finished kitchen in the new house yet! That gives us just a smidge over a month to finish everything, and I don't think it's feasible... at all. We need a miracle!

Im surprised the realtor is going to give up like 1/2 her commission. Also surprised buyers would lose house over 2k. Crazy
