Taxes?
How much are your taxes and what town/school district do you live in?
I live in Massapequa with Plainedge School District and my taxes make me want to cry...
ETA: Mine are approximately $14,700 and that is with the STAR reduction.

WOW! Whenever I get the feeling I want to move back to NY i'll have to look at this thread. My mom lives in Oceanside and her taxes are crazy but her mortgage is paid, I don't know how you guys do it with these taxes AND a mortgage.

We're the same district. Ours actually went down $700 this year and we are grieving with Fred Perry.
Ours with STAR are about $12k
Christine, do you have a new construction? I know they get slammed in taxes. Did you try grieving?

Ours are around $6500 with STAR in Mass Park.
Plainedge school district is always higher taxes because you don't have Sunrise Mall to help off set the taxes I believe.
