IF girls
For those that conceived through IVF or IUI and are use to weekly appts and sonos, how do you get use to not seeing the doc for 2 to 3 weeks??? I had my first OB appt @ 10 weeks last Thursday and then go for my next sono @ 12 weeks 4 days. Seems like so far from now......

Re: IF girls
I didn't conceive through IVF or IUI but I was seeing an RE and I did have the weekly's. It was HARD to wait the few weeks!
But honestly you just have to get used to it because that 3 week wait isn't the longest wait you will have between sono's. As the pregnancy progresses it seems the sono's become less and less. It's just a matter of it is what it is.
if you think something is wrong you can always call the dr's office. I've definitely called a few times. That has helped me out.
But it is hard. Very hard. Again, you just have to deal with it and get used to it... that's how I looked at it. I also tried to not think about it too much. And I bought a heart monitor to calm my nerves when i thought something bad.

Re: IF girls
It's weird but you get used to it!! I had a sono at 18 weeks and see the OB again tomorrow (almost 22 weeks, so 4 weeks between visits) and I don't even know when I'll have another sono! Now that I can feel the baby moving it puts my mind at ease a lot more then the early weeks when I really depended on the sonos and doppler to know everything was ok!

Re: IF girls
It is soooooooooooooooooooooo HARD! And I get worried between appointments too.
I definitely got spoiled with all the sonos in the beginning, though I am lucky in a way because I'm pregnant with so I will get more sonos than a pregnancy.
My last sono was at 12 weeks on 4/11. I have to wait until next Thursday 5/12 and then I don't go for an appointment again until 6/1.

Re: IF girls
I did IVF and loved having the weekly sonos till 10 weeks. I'm not high risk so I will be on the regular schedule. I had my NT scan at 12.5 weeks and won't have my next till 20 weeks. The wait is going to be unbearable. I'm considering doing the sequential testing at 16/17 weeks just so I can see the baby sooner even though all my results were great.

Re: IF girls
Honestly, I got so paranoid in between my 9 wk visit and my 12 wk visit that I got a fetal doppler. I listened to my baby every night before I went to bed to ease my mind. That's the only thing that did it for me! I wouldn't have lasted otherwise.
now that I'm farther along, I feel her kick all the time, and feeling that is more reassuring than anything.

Re: IF girls
Because my OB does sonos at every appointment and I had to see a high risk doc pretty much immediately after my first OB appointment, I have had many sonos. In between appointments, I had a fetal doppler I purchased on Amazon to calm my nerves.
