Pirate themed birthday party

Has anyone had one? My DS will be 4 soon and just told me this is what he wanted. :) We will probably do it at home. He loves the Disney show Jake and the Neverland Pirates, but I haven't seen this theme in the stores, and most pirate stuff I've seen is older, like skulls. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! :)

I actually just did a pirate and princess themed party at my shop (Darlings & Divas)
but there is so much fun stuff to do..

First, I would start off with pirate makeovers- bandanas, "earrings" eye patches, etc... you can have blow up swords (less damaging than the metal/plastic ones if a sword fight breaks out)

Once everyone has their makeover, I'd do a pirate naming ceremony...

Then you can do a treasure hunt.. simple clues from place to place (and adult has to help) and then I would have them win baggies of gold coins that they can trade in for their "loot" bags.

Of course, you need to do tattoos- you can just get regular pirate tattoos or do something fabulous like glitter tattoos (which I offer as part of my business)..
