Uggh...
I'm so annoyed right now. I was asking my mom and my sister when my shower was going to be because I wanted to look for an outfit. They are fine with me knowing when my shower would be and told me they would let me know. I would assume that it would be the latest mid July ( my EDD is Aug. 31st- measured at last sono Aug. 24th). Well, they told me that it would have to be July 24th or 31st because of other circumstances ( sister going on vaca., 4th of July weekend, grad. weekend...). Really? A month before I'm due Not to sound ungrateful but that doesn't give us much time to set everything up for the baby. Not to mention I'm going to be so uncomfortable.
Please tell me I'm not being crazy about this. Thanks for letting me vent.

Re: Uggh...
My shower is June4th and I am due July 14th, I don't see it as a big deal. I am grateful I have a wonderful family who is willing to throw me a shower, and so what you may be uncomfortable for a couple hours, it's not the end of the world. Some ladies may feel different, but that's how I feel.

Re: Uggh...
my shower was when i was exactly 30 weeks and that weekend we managed tog et everything put away and washed and set up. the next week at 31 weeks i went into preterm labor. The docs managed to stop it and im now 33 weeks and still preggo with my little girls but when I was in the hospital all I could think of was Thank God we finished everything last weekend.
Truth is that u need once full weekend to sort through everything wash everything and set stuff up. You should be fine. Just be happy that your family is throwing you a shower and honoring you and ur little baby to be. Its the last thing for u to be stressing about.
Oh and as far as you being uncomfy. you'll be having too much fun to even think about it.

Thanks. This made me feel a little better. I'm very grateful that my family is going to throw me and my LO a shower. I just think that I'm very hormonal right now and feel much better now that I vented.

Re: Uggh...
i'm in a similar boat to you. i'm so happy i'm even having a shower to begin with. but my shower isn't until 36 + weeks... it's less than a month before my due date. And as it is there are a few reasons why I might end up with a C section and it being before my due date. It's also outsite (which I LOVE the idea of...I just wish more for May because I'm not good in the heat).
But i'm just looking at it is.... it is what it is... and I just have to focus on the positive. That I will be having a shower in the first place. I'm just so grateful for that alone.

My shower was when I was 33 weeks pregnant and I didn't think it was a big deal at all. Like PP said, you need one weekend to wash and put everything away, it doesn't even take that long. And, try to focus on the positive...at least they are throwing you a shower and you are getting all these wonderful things for your LO that now you don't have to buy.

Re: Uggh...
My shower is May 7 and the baby is due June 11. We almost have everything ready. My mom and sister are going to come home with me after the shower to get everything else ready. Don't worry, I think you will have enough time.

Re: Uggh...
I totally understand! My shower will be Memorial Day weekend, and I'm due July 4th.. Keeping it with the holiday theme I suppose? So that puts me at 34w5d. I'm very nervous about it too, not because I feel that I'll be big or uncomfortable, but because I'm so terrified of premature labor that I'm not sure if it's fear or premonition, and I'm concerned about the time afterwards to prepare. So while I'm grateful to have a shower (though we'll see how many people actually come due to the holiday weekend), I totally understand where you're coming from too.

Re: Uggh...
Don't worry. Im due July 1st and my shower is June 5th. I know it can be a little nerve racking b/c a baby comes when it's ready not when your ready but I think you will have enough time. Just do as many little things as you can before hand.
