Ladies who had their babies...
I am not breast feeding and my breast are huge, engorged and painful - what can I do to alleviate this?

Make sure you are constantly wearing a sports bra and I used to put a bag of frozen veggies or ice packs on them constantly. After a few days they will subside. Oh, and only take the bra off when taking a shower. And don't let the hot water hit the girls when in the shower either, it stimulates milk production.

If you don't mind smelling like saur kraut the cold cabbage leaves in your bra really do work! Something about the cabbage helps to dry you up (I think) and the coldness of the leaf right out of the fridge is amazing!
Ibuprofen too and mostly, just time! I am so not looking forward to this part again!

Re: Ladies who had their babies...
I just had my DS and I wore a tight fitting bra and put cold cabbage leaves in my bra during the day. This helped so much. In three days I was feeling much more like my old self in the breast area.

Re: Ladies who had their babies...
I used ice packs, motrin and cabbage leaves. Dried it up super fast. The first day it came in was awful. I sat on the couch in tears- literally crying from the pain. The pain in my boobs was worse than my stitches down below. Thankfully it only lasted a day or so. I really think the cabbage leaves in the bra helped!
