Is it ok to do ab exercises in your 1st trimester?

Yes,it's fine. You just have to lower your intensity. After the first trimester it's a big no-no.
Everyone is different though so check with your doctor first.

check with your Dr because my ob told me no go on 3 things and this was one of the 3 things.

I'm surprised you were all told no. My doctor is super limiting on exercise and told me if was perfectly ok at a moderate level in the 1st tri only.
I'm also a personal trainer and have done pregnancy certifications, worked with pregnant clients and was never told no by any of their doctors ( I always get clearance from their doctors). BUT as I said, everyone's situation is different so your doctor is going to know best for you.

My doctor said moderate exercise , nothing more than what you had been doing, but iddnt specifically mention anything with abs.

said to take it easy on exercise (assuming I was already working out before PG, if I was not working out before it was recommended I not start) but no abs at all

my dr said exercise was fine at 70% of what i normally do. specifically said no abs.
