What should I be eating if my glucose test is tomorrow? Should I stay away from Red Velvet cake today that is being provided by my work?? :(

Re: Glucose Test
i tried to stay away from sweets a few days before my test...and pretty much stuck to my normal foods.
i took my test in the afternoon, and they told me to stop eating and drinking an hour before i drank the drink, and then didint eat or drink anything for the hour after before they took my blood.

Re: Glucose Test
You should be eating your normal diet- the whole purpose of the test is to an accurate read on how your body is processing glucose. So you want to eat as close to your normal diet as possible. I wouldn't eat an entire cake, but one piece of cake would be fine.

Re: Glucose Test
I wouldn't go overboard but a little piece should be fine. I would just eat normally.

Re: Glucose Test
I would also eat normally, and for me that did include a large bowl of ice cream the night before. I passed with no problem

Re: Glucose Test
I was told not eating or drinking after midnight the day prior to the test. I just ate my normal dinner, no after dinner snacks, went to bed, had the test done between 7:30 and 8:30 AM the next morning, and passed.
