Where is baby sleeping...

right away?

I don't want to get a bassinet. I feel for us it's a waste of money. We live in a 1 bedroom apt currently, and if we dont buy a house before baby is born, we will divide the room. So our baby is literally right there.

I was thinking of using the Fisher Price Rock n' Play, because of the great reviews I'm getting. I figure I will try the crib, but i know some newborns dont like all that space, so I will use the Rock N Play in that case.

Thoughts? When I mentioned this yesterday, people kept saying I should get the bassinet..

DD has slept in either the rock n play or her swing and she is 7 weeks. We never had a bassinet either. She just doesnt really like her crib much. I think you will be just fine w/o a bassinet. You can bring the rock n play into your bedroom, just as you would a bassinet.

We used the crib from day 1 with my son and will do the same with this baby!

We also live in a 1br co-op. Baby will be sleeping in our room in the crib from day one. We also registered for and received the rock n play as well as a swing but I do not want to use those for nighttime sleeping if at all possible.

I have a hand-me-down cradle that we will be using in the beginning. After that, the baby will move to the crib.

He will be in the crib, which is in our room. Unless, he will only sleep in the swing.

With my DD, she slept in a bassinet in the living room for about a week and then right to the crib in her own room!!!

She also intermitently slept in the swing. My DH goes to work at 4:30 AM so most nights in the beginning I slept on the couch so he could sleep

We registered for a bassinet, the crib will be across the hall, and we will have the rock n play.

I see the rock n play as more of a travel thing to sleep, probably the bassinet which I might put next to my bed at the beginning.

we're gonna set up the pack 'n play in our bedroom so she'll sleep in there in the beginning and then we'll move her to her crib in her own room. i just want her in our room when she's born cause it'll be summer and i'd rather have her with us with the a/c on.

DS slept in his bassinett most of the time and once in a while if he was fussy in while he'd sleep in the swing. Crib at 4 months.

We are getting the Uppababy which has a bassinet attachment, so we are planning for the baby to sleep in that in the beginning. However, we tentatively registered for the rock and play sleeper thing as well because it gets so many rave reviews, so we may use that instead. We'll see what prefers. We are not getting a bassinet though

either the rock and play or the bassinet that comes with our stroller. I saw no need for another bassinet that we are going to use for such a short time.

We have a bassinet. It housed me, my 2 sisters, 5 cousins, and my 4 nieces and nephews.

I suppose you can say it's tradition to use it

We're not doing a separate bassinet either. I was just going to use the FP Rock n Play Sleeper but DH doesn't feel comfortable with it. I'm sure he'll give in if the baby loves it and gives him a longer stretch of sleep. So we compromised and will use the bassinet feature in the PNP for a while until the baby goes in his or her nursery.

We live in a two bedroom. My cousin lent us a basinett so we are going to use that, but I don't think I would have bought one.

We can't use the rock and play because we have a big dog who would just sit and bother the baby all day long, but if we didn't have a dog I think that's what we would use.

We are using the bassinet that came with our stroller (bugaboo) on a stand. We prob would have just used the rock n' play thing, but we also needed something our dog couldnt get into easily.

The room that will be the nursery is across the hall from our bed room. I really dont feel the need for a bassinet. I plan to put the bubbs in the crib from day one. If the bubbs doesnt like the crib that I might have him/her sleep in the rock & play in our room for a bit. I'm not planning on registering for a bassinet. I will get a PnP but will prob only use it for when we travel.

We are also in a 1BR, we will likely get a minicrib and minichanger which will go in our bedroom.

Personally, I'm using a bassinet that has been in my family. But if not, I was thinking of one of those co-sleepers or the rock n' play.

The FP Rock and Play. Ds#1 slept in it and baby #2 will sleep in it.

We put Sean in his crib from Day 1 and he's an awesome sleeper - so, hopefully it works w/ this one too
