Has anyone given birth at stony brook recently?
I had DS at Stony Brook in '06. One of the major things I didn't like about my experience there was that I was woken up EXTREMELY early (like the sun was just starting to rise) each morning by Drs. to be checked out (to see if the uterus was shrinking, etc.) Is this still happening there?

Had DD jan 09
Umm I had major BP issues so I felt like they were always in my room, but for some reason I was not bothered by it.
I think I was just happy to have my own private room and shower!!!!!

Re: Has anyone given birth at stony brook recently?
It's just the way it is at a teaching hospital. The residents are very busy and early AM is the only time they can round without their pager going off because the night team is still around and /or things are all quiet. They also need to do that so if you are going home everything is ready so you can go home before noon. As an intern I would start rounds at 6-6:30am and I was only in medicine. The surgical subspecialties like Ob/Gyn were often 5 or earlier. Just be happy it's only 1 or 2 days-they do this every day for years and go home late as well...

Great. It just stinks because those two days in the hospital are the last days of "relaxation" before you go home! I understand that this is the way it needs to be done, but I don't have to like it!

I know-everything else is so unplanned it would be nice to actually have a planned day to sleep in
