Transitioning from an infant bathtub to the regular bathtub...
Did you use a bath ring/seat thing or a bath mat or did you just plop DC right in the tub? DS is ready to move into the tub but I'm nervous the tub will be too slippery. He sits up just fine (he is 8mo) so does he even need something to sit in or on??

we got this little seat thing that had suction cups at the bottom to stick to the tub - it held him up and made it easier for us to wash him.

We bought the little suction tred things to put in thebottom of the tub when we moved him to the regular tub b/c it is slippery. He found them and pulled them off so we just made sure to watch him so he wouldn't slip. He's never allowed to stand (and he's usually pretty ok with sticking to that) and we only had a couple of times where he almost fell from sitting.

Re: Transitioning from an infant bathtub to the regular bathtub...
DD#1 was older when I transitioned her because it was easier to bathe her in the infant tub. She was over a year old.
DD#2 I started putting her in the big tub with her sister around 10 months. We don't have anything other than the non slip mat on the bottom. I never used a ring seat.

jack went right into the tub at 6 months!!!
out tub has non slip coating and the ring wouldnt suction down - it kept tipping when he leaned forward so i decided just to put him into the tub and he did fine

I just posted about this as well. DD is 9.5 months and we just moved her to the bathtub. At first it was too slippery. We got the non-slip mat for the tub and its so much better.

I transitioned DD to the bath ring and then when she was too big for it, I got one of the blow up tubs and put it into the big tub so that if she fell over she wouldn't hit her head. I was a nervous wreck.

DD#1 & 2 we just put in the tub around 9 months. DD#3 has been in the tub since 6 months with the bath ring and it works wonders.
