Preggo mommies who also have a toddler

Do you ever have to bring your toddler to your OB appointments? We have a 15 month old and my husband works afternoons and evenings, so I feel like I'm gonna be stuck in this position a lot. Like today, for example. Is this a terrible thing? What do they even do while you're with the doctor, laying back with your legs spread?! My son is still in the infant seat (he's a peanut) so I was thinking of just bringing him in in the seat so he'd be contained. But he has almost reached the height limit, so he won't be in it much longer. Just wondering what all you other preggos with toddlers do!

I always bring DD...she's older though..DDH would tickle my legs when I'm laying down LOL...and she tends to socialize with EVERYONE in the officeChat Icon

I have had to bring my toddler and it was a nightmare.... but we were in the newly walking and didn't want to be confined stage. In an infant carrier I think you will be fine!!!

Also the wait at my office is insane and we would have meltdowns before even getting called into the room Chat Icon

I started making my appointments around when my family or IL's could watch the toddler or for when DH would be home from work.

DS is 2.5 and I had twin girls 2 weeks ago. He came to a few appointments because I had no choice. But he never came to sonos - they just took too long.

My twins came to appointments a few times. Most appointments are really quick - they just listen to the HB with the doppler, ask how you are doing. My OB has toys in all the exam rooms, so they would play with those.
One time I had to bring them for a sono (cervix check) and my midwife was nice enough to keep an eye on them.

I usually go to routine appts right from work or if its a sono I pick up DH at the train and my MIL watches DD. Monday is the first time DD is coming with us!

We bring him with us all the time. I just try to make the appt right after work so DH has time to pick up DS and they meet me at the Dr’s office. I love that he is there. We already have his brother’s name picked out and he knows where he is. Or so I think he knows who he is talking to!! But during the sonos we tell him that is XYZ. He has no idea what is going on but I love having him there. Plus the nurses and my Dr are amazing and always welcome the kids in the office. Chat Icon
