BTDT ques re:newborn photo shoots
so i was talking to my MIL about how i am thinking of scheduling a newborn photo shoot and her response was dont schedule anything you can't cancel because you dont know how you will feel once the baby is born.
So my question for you is - did anyone wish they hadn't made plans for a photoshoot because they were too tired or something...

Nope. I was fine. And I had a horrible newborn. At that point, adrenaline takes over and you just manage!
Plus the photog does everything- I just handed her my baby and she took over!

Nope I really looked forward to it. Getting my mani the night before the photos was my first time out without baby and it was SO NICE. I know I would have never done it that early without the excuse of the photo shoot

The photographer came to us, set everything up, handled the baby, everything. All I had to do was feed him when he got hungry. And I was super sleep deprived and still kinda hurting from my c/s.

Re: BTDT ques re:newborn photo shoots
After having DD's newborn photo shoot, I'm filled with regret that I didn't do one for DS. It couldn't have been easier and I looked forward to it from the minute I was discharged!

Re: BTDT ques re:newborn photo shoots
the pictures we got of DS at his newborn shoot are absolutely priceless! I had a c-section and was fine for the pics, I didn't really have to do much. I also had my grandma there to help out which was nice. The photog came to the house. He slept most of the time and I had his bottle on hand for when he got a little cranky. If it's something you really want to do and something you have the budget for, don't let anyone talk you out of it because you will regret NOT doing it!

I have never heard anyone say they regret having a newborn shoot done EVER.
I've never known anyone to regret pictures of their infant.
NB pics are the best pics ever IMO.

I was really nervous only becuase of the potential germ factor. I was worried if the props were clean enough, but I'm also a germaphobe. The photog was great and reassured me. I LOVE my pics and I'm very happy that I went through with it.
They're only this tiny for such a short time, I really want to be able to look back on it with the pics !

Re: BTDT ques re:newborn photo shoots
I had the most amazing photographer. She came as I was trying to put baby to sleep. Since I didn't wan to keep her waiting, I decided to try to give him a bottle to help top him off and knock him out, he was so fussy, I was so tired, she asked to hold him, she fed and rocked the baby to peaceful, got some great pics, then rocked him to sleep and got some more great pics.
I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was.
