babymoon destination recs?

we are looking for relaxing babymoon ideas for july. i tend to always pick up stomach bugs when traveling in the Caribbean (DR, Mexico) so i want to go somewhere there is no risk of that. also don't want to go anywhere it will be brutall hot in july. we are currently considering sedona.

TIA :)

Re: babymoon destination recs?

Do you want somewhere beachy? How far are you willing to travel?

We are going to the Amalfi coast in 2 weeks. I'm hoping it will be "relaxing" as that is our intention although planning it was a little more involved than I expected. Chat Icon It will be pretty hot there in July though...

What about Canada? Cape Cod? London?

we are going to savannah next weekend. I did not want to leave the country or go to far. I heard amazing things about it. I can let you know how it is when I get back.

We went to Amalfi for our honeymoon last June. You will find it quite relaxing (just be prepared for lots and lots of stairs!).

I am expecting it and we planned our accommodations to be centrally located and with minimal steps (to the extent possible). We live in the city and are very active so I'm hopeful that I can keep up but we're planning to take it easy and at our own pace depending on how I feel. My biggest issue right now is getting car sick so I might be better off walking as much as possible and minimizing cabs!

There really aren't streets to take cabs around within each of the towns (not sure where you're staying - amalfi iteself, positano, capri) - everything is by foot unless you're going between towns, in which case you can go by ferry, bus or cab. just don't look out the window too much on the way to the coast/between towns - so scary/nauseating as you zip up and down a winding edge of a cliff!

If you don't want too hot, what about Bar Harbor, Cape Cod, Banff or Vancouver?

I know my doc said no traveling to any place with sub-par medical care. He said "If you want to go to Paris or London, fine. But do NOT go to South or Central America (and several European countries)."

My Rec: DH and I love Virginia Beach :)

Ou could stop in Mystic for a day and then continue on to Newport R.I. There are some awesome B&B's there.

Re: babymoon destination recs?

All I will say is ... I went on a cruise to Bermuda/Bahamas at 12 and 13 wks pregnant.

Most of my memories of that trip are from the bathroom. I was drinking ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL DAYYYYYYYYYYY LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGg because it was July and brutally HOT. So, I was also going to the bathroom .. literally.. 30 times a day.

Just keep that in mind Chat Icon Chat Icon

We're going to the Virginia Beach area in July, but it's not a babymoon, most of my DH's extended family are going too Chat Icon

If I was looking to do something really nice for just the two of us I would either do California (we did the costal pacific drive three years ago and I loved it) or a really relaxing spa like the Phoenician in Scottsdale.
