Anyone here use Dr. Donna Schneider at North Shore OB/GYN?
I saw her years ago as my gyno. I remember that she was really nice. I hope her bedside manner has not changed. I am switching to her b/c I don't particularly like male OB/GYN's. I just feel like women dr.'s understand us more and what we go through.
She's affiliated with Huntington Hospital. I hear Huntington is one of the best maternity wards on L.I.
Who here uses her? Thanks!

I see Dr Callan at NSM and love her. I saw Dr Schneider a few times when I was pregnant with DD and also in the hospital after I gave birth to DD and I didn't love her bedside manner.

This is what I am being told by lots of my friends... IDK ...
I have gone there in the past and never had an issue.
Then again, thankfully, I only had to go there only a few times.

So Dr. Callan is in the same practice?
This is a shame to hear about Schneider b/c when I saw her 10 years ago, she was really nice. I guess she changed...
Oh well, I'll see her and then base my decision on whether to switch and maybe try Callan.

My main dr is Dr. callan but i have seen dr. schneider also because they want you to see all the ones that deliver
I like all the docs there- they are very good and all very friendly
Huntington Hospital has a great reputation but keep in mind most rooms right now are doubles - you can pay extra for a single- they are planning on expanding the maternity ward to be all singles but they are only in the process of raising funds - but with that said the nurses are great and the lactation consultant - ethel is so helpful and sweet and never condescending if you have trouble or have to supplement

I see Dr. Sierecki and absolutely love her! I've heard great things about the hospital as well. I haven't met any of the other doctors in the practice yet, but I believe I may do so this week when I go for my appointment.

I see Scanlon and love him. He's VERY laid back though. Which *I* like about him.
Dr. Sierecki delivered DS and I LOVED HER!!!!
I didn't mind Callan or Schneider but you wait forever for them.
I also LOVED everyone at Huntington Hospital. Literally! My L&D nurses were the best!! (my friend is actually an L&D nurse at Huntington, she's also awesome haha)

So, this makes me wonder if this practice is less intimate. Can you request a main Dr.? Do they make you see all the Dr.'s at NS OB/GYN? I guess you can't choose the one dr. that you want to deliver your baby then? IDK... I saw this other OB a couple of times but, I was not so comfortable there. My aunt reminded me of Dr. Schneider and she says she's great but, this is going back 10 years ago when she used her for her pregnancy. This other practice is a one person practice....everytime I go for my visit there are maybe two people in the waiting room. But, I would have to deliver at Southside (which I also heard good things about) or Good sam.... I guess I'll see how it goes at NS and then make a decision on which practice to stick with... UGH so confusing.

You'll have a main doctor just at the end of your pregnancy you'll rotate to meet all of them. Most practices do this b/c your doctor may not be on call the night you deliver & you should meet all of them in case this happens. NS is actually intimate with only having 4 doctors.

I use this practice and my main dr is Dr Scanlon who I LOVE LOVE LOVE! but Dr Schneider is actually the dr that delivered DD and I thought she was great...no complaints about her at all.
I also have seen Callan because like someone else said, they want you to have at least one appt with all 3 drs at some point during your pregnancy and of the 3 I liked her the least, although she is still pretty nice. Its really personal preference.
and I had a great experience at Huntington hospital.

I agree the wait for Dr Callan has become ridiculous. I like Dr Schneider but like someone mentioned, it cones down to personality. I didn't feel a click with her. That said, I dreaded the possibility of Dr Scanlon delivering my DD and funnily enough, he did and he was amazing! I'm actually considering switching to him as my main Dr as the waits for Dr Callan are no fun with my toddler in tow.
Huntington Hospital was an amazon experience - the L&D nurses were fantastic. I too have a friend who is an L&D nurse there!

this correct and if you really don't want to see all the docs they won't force you - i have a friend who did not want to meet the other and they were fine with it
it is a very nice small practice and the doctors really care about there patients
also if you take the early appointments - i find that there is no wait

I see Schneider and love her! A good friend of mine who is a L&D nurse at Huntington recommended her - - so I took her suggestion as high praise as she knows all of the docs who deliver there.
Have seen all the docs in the practice at this point, and I'd be comfortable with any of them delivering for me. That said, my appointments from here (35w 3d) on out are exclusively with Dr. Schneider.
