Re: l & D bag
Huh? So I need 2 bags?? Why? I'd rather just keep everything together and not have another bag to worry about.

You don't need 2, some just suggest it so you don't have to bring EVERYTHING up to L and D with you. You won't need your clothes, toiletries, breast pump, babies things until you are settled in your room. It just makes it a little easier to just have a smaller bag to grab and go.

Re: l & D bag
it is a good idea to bring yours - the lactation consultant can show you good techniques and also make sure the size of the flanges are the proper size for you

Re: l & D bag
Chapstick and a brush were the only things I needed. I also had the baby book to put footprints in.

The nurse who taught my Lamaze class said not to bring it,since it takes your milk a few days to come in, and you will have nothing to pump in the hospital...

Not sure why she would say that It's true your milk doesn't come in right away, but before it does, you are producing colostrum, which can be pumped out too. If all is going well with nursing, there is no need to pump during your hospital stay, unless, as others mentioned, you want someone to help you practice and get used to using it.
