XPOST- A question for all
I have recently come off birth control and DH and I are started to talk about TTC. I have lost 65 pounds but I am not sure how much I more I should lose before I start trying. About how much did/ do you weigh while TTC/ pregnant? For those who got pregnant who were overweight did you have more complications? For girls who weighed a little more did your doctor have concerns with you being pregnant?
TIA

Re: XPOST- A question for all
I'm 5'8
I was 155 when I got pregnant with DD1 (had gained some weight from ferility drugs etc)
I was 145 when I got PG his time.
I did IVF with both so I put on a few lbs prior to BFP.
145 is ideal for me weight wise with my body type.

Re: XPOST- A question for all
I'm 5'9...and weighed around 176 lbs when I got pregnant. I had gained weight right after my wedding. My wedding weight was 165 lbs....Ideal weight is 155-160 lbs for my height...so I started out pregnant weighing more than I wanted.

Re: XPOST- A question for all
i weighed too much. more than my ideal body weight for sure. i only gained 18lbs. i lost every pound +12 in 2 weeks post pardum.
NO complications. i actually felt great and had a very healthy pregnancy
ETA - i was not strict with food but i didnt over indulge. my OB didnt want me to gain more than 25-27lbs. honestly, it was easy. if i was really careful about how I ate, i would have gained nothing.
i feel that those who are underweight GAIN because they need it. those who are normal weight usually gain about 25-40 and those who are overweight dont gain much. you body knows what it is supposed to do

Re: XPOST- A question for all
I'm 5'5" and was 179 when I got pregnant. I had lost about 45 lbs before getting pregnant, plus I was going to the gym 4 times a week. I was so glad I got my body into better shape because I have felt great most of this pregnancy.
ETA: I have gained 20 lbs so far and I'm 26 and a half weeks along. I treat myself but I don't overindulge. I'm a big fruit/veggie eater too so that helps.

Re: XPOST- A question for all
I'm 5'3 and weighted about 90lbs. I gained 5lbs in the last few months of TTC and I got a bfp. not sure if it had something to do with it, but my dr's were on my case often about being the right weight for my body size

Re: XPOST- A question for all
I was 145, size 4 , 5'5'' when I started TTC. I weighed 160 when I got BFP. I gained the weight from fertility meds. 10 weeks later I'm still 160.

Re: XPOST- A question for all
I'm 5'4" and have struggled with weight for all of my post-puberty life. Nothing crazy, but have always weighed more than I should in good health. Since my early college years, I fluctuate between sizes 10-14. At one brief period in college I was an 8. When we started TTC, I was around 155/160ish. Doctor never mentioned anything about my weight when I saw him and told him we were planning to start TTC, nor did he mention it when I got PG 6 months later. According the my OB's office scale, I was 167 at the beginning of my pregnancy (which was around 10 weeks- the first time I saw them). I was never given any special dietary guidelines, and my weight was never once mentioned throughout my pregnancy. I had an amazing pregnancy- no complications, felt great throughout the entire 9 months- even until the day I delivered (4 days past my due date). By the end of it all, I had gained 19 lbs, and lost it all within 2 weeks of delivery. With this pregnancy, I weighed slightly less at the beginning, I think closer to 160 or so. I'm only 9 weeks, so I don't know how it's all gonna go from here!
Congrats on losing 65 lbs, btw, that's awesome!!

Same thing happened to my friend, she was a little overweight when she got PG and even though the baby is growing wonderfully, she's eating so well that she has lost weight.

Re: XPOST- A question for all
i am 5'6" (almost) and was around 142lbs. while TTC. We did have some fertility problems, mostly male IF. It took us 1 year to get pregnant. When I got my BFP I was 142lbs. and now at almost 10weeks pregnant I was 144lbs. this morning. I am hoping to gain no more than 30lbs.
