braxton-hicks

Does everyone experience Braxton-Hicks? I'm nearly 35 weeks and I haven't felt anything yet. I'm starting to worry that this means I'm either going to go really late or not go into labor on my own at all. Anyone else never get Braxton-Hicks?

Re: braxton-hicks

Not everyone gets them -- and some people get them and they don't even know it.

You can totally be contracting and have no idea. I'm 32 weeks and receive weekly monitoring with non-stress tests in my high risk OB's office. I went this morning and was told I was contracting, yet I felt nothing.

There have been a few times I felt the BH contractions...and it's this tightening feeling in my belly that is somewhere between painful and uncomfortable.

I get BH about once or twice a week. They are starting to getm ore uncomfy. They wake me up out of a sound sleep sometimes.

I'm just over 36w and I have never knowingly had a Braxton-Hicks contraction. I've been hooked up to the contraction monitor three times and never contracted there, either.

I wouldn't worry about it. Chat Icon

Re: braxton-hicks

I agree with the PP in that not everyone gets them. I had them with DD and I'm starting to get them now, at 18+ weeks.

BH are not an indication of labor - they are not true labor contractions.

Re: braxton-hicks

Thanks girls! I definitely feel better now. Good to know I'm not the only one who either hasn't been having them or hasn't noticed them.

Re: braxton-hicks

When I was pregnant with DS, I never had one BH contraction.

Now this pregnancy I get them constantly!

Dont worry!
