What non-video baby monitor did you register for?
There are so many to choose from and the one i had for DD i bought in 2009 that i love is discontinued.
What is yours?

Try the sony monitor. I think its like $40, and it works great...far range, too!

Yup have this one for DD. Excellent
We have this one (with the single receiver -- it's portable so we really only need one) and it's fabulous. Picks up sounds great without any sort of feedback.
