Coming out tomorrow, Need ideas!
Tomorrow is my NT scan and after we have the sono (and everything looks great  ) we are going to go to my inlaws' to tell them that we're prego. My husband is not into doing anything fun (like getting t-shirts or bringing over balloons or anything like that). He wants to just go over there and tell them and everyone can hug and cry. They're pretty emotional people and I'd like to fun it up a bit. This is going to be their first grandchild and they've been waiting for this!
I want to make it exciting and fun instead of emotional. Any suggestions?

for the in-laws we put the sono in a grandparents frame and wrapped it up as a gift. maybe you could do that and say you have a early easter gift or something

I would make a copy of the ultrasound picture and give it to them in a card addressed to grandma and grandpa. It's a small gesture but still a bit fun, right?

We told my side with a cake. I had the bakery write "We're having a baby!" on it and they added little baby decorations on it. My sister opened it and read it out loud to everyone and they all started crying.
We told my in-laws with a onesie. The onsie said "Destination Grandparents". We put it in a gift bag and gave it to my MIL to open.

I think the sono in a grandparents frame or a cake is great. A lot of the over-the-top ways of telling just aren't for me- I feel like sometimes it almost seems egotistical. Idk if that's exactly the right word...
I think I like the frame better though b/c they can keep it forever.

We told our families at the holidays and wrapped up an "I love grandma/grandpa" frame with an insert, wrapped it, and had them open it with the rest of the gifts.
We told our friends by having a GTG at our apartment and then when everyone arrived my DH got everyone's attention, thanked them for coming, told them there was more beer in the fridge and to be careful not to spill on our white rug and then asked me if I had anything to add and I said I was 13.5 weeks pregnant  
funny/low key/unexpected and went over well with minimal prep

For my #2DS we put a pic in a frame for Christmas and wrote
Picture...2.99
Frame....5.99
Finding out there are 4 people in the picture PRICELESS.
