it's been my new thing for the past couple of weeks. I actually crave it now.

nope, it gives me the chills. when i see/hear someone else chewing ice, all i can think about is breaking teeth!
craving ice is actually an indicator of an iron deficiency. Are you anemic, by any chance?

I chewed ice during my pregnancy, which can be an indicator of low iron.
Low and behold, after telling my doc, he sent me for a blood test, and I was anemic.
I'm assuming it had to do with the fact that I couldn't stomach red meat through my pregnancy, so the baby took any and all iron I took in.

I chewed ice for months during my pregnancy. And while I was in L and D. I was severely anemic.... I would get your iron level checked...

Me too!!! I cannot get enough ice lately. I never heard about it being associated with low iron and anemia though, that's interesting.

All the time! DH said its the main thing he wont miss after my pregnancy is over! I am constantly crunching!
Funny thing was I started with this ice thing around 24 weeks I think, I didnt tihnk much of it. Until at 26 weeks I found out i have VERY slight anemia...when looking up anemia I found some people do crave things like eating ice!
