My DH LOVESSSS luka. Only name he really wants. But the whole "K" and ending in an "a" really bothers me, i think its girlish. He wont budge on the spelling. Am I nuts?

I think it's fine. perfectly fine. I like it actually.
And I see many unfortunate names out there. This one is just fine! Actually when I read it I thought... hmm would I want to be the Liam or the Luka of this pair (If I was a boy of course) and I kinda leaned towards Luka.
I can't really see a girl being Luka.

Many of the girls in my family are with K. I am Kelly, we have a Karen, Karyn, Kim Kaileen etc so I relate K with chicks. And I relate Marco with Polo, and Cristian with Chris who was a boy in 5th grade who peed his pants, and the list goes on. Ok, i am nuts. It is just SO MUCH pressure giving TWO other humans names they will have foreverrrrrrrrr.

i don't think you're nuts... i think luka sounds like a girls name. "Luca" on the other hand, is an italian boys name. but i know you said he wont budge on the spelling. Any thoughts on Luke?

I prefer Luca or Lucca too, DH is not having it

We love Luka, spelled Luca but I feel the same way about it being a little feminine because it ends in A. Def not nuts at all. My vote is for Christian and Dominic.

THOUGH as 1/2 Italian 1/2Irish chick i do like Liam & Luka..I agree about the spelling of Luka though. I like it Luca

Why is he so insistent on Luka spelled that way? I don't think it portrays a girls name but if he wants an Italian name, remind him there is no 'k' in the Italian alphabet!

Is your DH Croatian by any chance? Luka is our DS's name and we are. I have never had any issues with his name.
As far as your combo's I like them all but I don't think Liam fits in with the other names.

Yes ! He is Croatianborn here. But I am not. So we go back and forth about the child being American and over here we spell it with a C. He is NOT having it He really never "asks" for anything, but for some reason THIS is what he chooses to put his foot down on! LOL I never met another LUKA!!!
And I agree, Liam does not go with the other names, nor does it go with our VERY ethnic last name...see my past posts

I love Luka and Liam.
Luka Bloom is an Irish folk singer so I actually think they go together well (he's the brother of Christy Moore who is a better known Irish folk singer).
