Upstate NY wedding - question

Next weekend Im going to a wedding in upstate NY. I didnt know where they had registered so I emailed a mutual friend. He said they had not registered anywhere, but they could use knick- knacks. ???? I had planned to just give them a check, but it sounds like people will bring wrapped gifts to the wedding.

Has anyone gone to a wedding upstate? I did a search but there were posts that were a little old - from 2 years ago.

Has anyone had a more recent experience?
Should I bring a gift ?

any thoughts???
TIA

Re: Upstate NY wedding - question

I have been to two weddings upstate and there were a lot of wrapped presents, but I still gave a check to both- not as much as I would give for a wedding on LI though.

You could give a small gift and include a check.

A Check is fine, prob. even preferred. I too, am an Upstater. You can give less than you do for a long Island wedding. It is funy thoough, the only warpped gifts I recieved at my weding were from my upstate friends. GOTTA LOVE THEM! Chat Icon
