Anyone going to Mexico?
Riviera Maya or Cancun specifically?
With all of the violence 1000 miles away near Mexico city is anyone spooked?
I'm not since it's so far from where I would go but is there more to this?

I think of it this way. If you were planning a trip to NYC but there was a lot of problems in Florida would it affect your decision to come to NY?

I am taking a cruise in the summer that stops at both Cozumel and Costa Maya. I am not concerned in the least. I know if it really is bad the cruise line will not go to that port.

We went to Riviera Maya a few years ago, and are going back to the Cancun area this summer. Where we're going isn't near the violence so we feel it should be fine.

Im going next week. Not spooked at all. mexico is a big country and the riviera where we are going is no where near the boarder areas where the violence is. I'd be more scared going to boarder areas in the US.

We have a house in Mexico and have not gone for 3 years, to us it's just not worth the risk (we have kids). My niece, BIL and SIL go all the time though. (BIL to take care of the business)
Up to the Acapulco incident, I would have agreed that it was limited to the border problems.
