For your delivery, did you...? Looking for an answer from everyone.

Just curious as to what most people did. Also, at what hospital?

Bethany, why'd they wind up doing a c-section? I'll be at Winthrop, & they started talk of induction (even though I'm only 39 weeks tomorrow, since I haven't dialated or effaced at all yet).

I was only about 1cm and not effaced but 3 days past my due date. Dr wanted to induce. Went in at 9pm- put cervadil in. My body totally freaked! MAJOR contractions and DDs heart rate starting going from 160 to 70 up and down...they took the cervadil out and gave me pitosin. The heart rate was erratic all night, it was so scary!! Then around 10AM I developed a fever, they said from labor. When they broke my water DD had passed the mercomium (sp?) in there so they wanted her out ASAP and I had only gotten to 4cm at this point. They decided at noon to do a C Section.

Honestly, it wasnt that bad! The recovery was ok and I just wanted my daughter OUT at that point. So my C Section was from a combination of factors: DDs heart rate, the mercomium and my fever.

Huntington Hospital...went into labor on my own and delivered (drug-free) vaginally.

At my 40w appt I was neither effaced nor dilated...I delivered my daughter 4 days later.

My c-section was planned, but DS didn't cooperate and decided to come early, so I went to L&D and had a C.

Re: For your delivery, did you...? Looking for an answer from everyone.

I answered that I got induced and delivered vaginally. I was already "on my way" though. I was 80% effaced and 2 cm dilated. I was 40 weeks, 2 days. I had mild cramping and slight bloody discharge the day and night before. I had my weekly appointment, did internal, I told him about bloody discharge and cramping and he said I "was ready" and asked if I wanted to go to the hospital the next morning to be induced. I agreed and the whole process went very smoothly. Total labor was approximately 10 hours, including about an hour of pushing. During labor he turned to sunny side up (face up) which makes delivery more difficult, but I still was able to deliver him vaginally.

DD#1 My water broke, she was born naturally 7 hours later

DD#2 My water broke, she was born naturally 2 and a half hours later

With this one I will be induced because my labors are so quick. All 3 kids were/will be born at Winthrop.

Induced with both pregnancies at Winthrop. Two very different circumstances but both were vaginal deliveries.

South Nassau

Was at my 39 week check up and my OB wanted to do a quick sono to see if DS was still breech. Turns out he was in a complete breech position and decided to section me that night.

Never labored, never dialted, nothing

Re: For your delivery, did you...? Looking for an answer from everyone.

My water had a slow leak, then I was induced to make progress and since 34 1/2 hours later there was still no little girl, they finally gave me a C-section!
