I think I'd be interested in seeing it too. We'll see when the time comes. I agree with the AP who said even if they wanted to look they will have all eyes on baby.

mine literally came flying out of me with #1, my doctor came running to try to catch it while yelling "OH MY GOD, I'm not geared up to take this" LOL!!!!!!!!!! I never got a chance to see but there is no way in he l l I'd want too! I had no idea what was going on but I'm glad I didn't.
OMG, thank you for the laugh! I am literally laughing out loud imagining this!

DH & I laugh so hard every time we think of this. My poor doctor was mortified, she was like it looks like a murder scene in here now (b/c it fell onto the floor!), I've never left an L&D room like this! I was like "well, at least it was easy to get out!"

I saw it with DS1- it was just sitting on a table for me to see. That is, AFTER I nearly shot it across the room. (I continued to strongly contract after DS came out, so my placenta delivered pretty forcefully  )

DH described it to me and said it was probably the most disgusting thing he'd EVER seen and the amount of blood I was losing and lost was absolutely crazy. I didn't want to see it (it was bad enough feeling all that pain lol) and I'm glad I didn't. I don't know how he goes near me anymore after all that!
But more power to you!!!
btw: Megan used the bib you sent us today for the first time (she's just started using bibs this week) -- it's great!! thanks again!

I heard the doctor playing with it. I took a peak but all I saw was a big blob. I could barely see as it is. I didn't have contacts or glasses on. Call me crazy but for this delivery, I think I will ask DH to get a pic of it.

with my first, i was much more nervous about the process. the dr asked if i wanted to reach and touch the head. i didnt. then he asked if i wanted to hold the placenta (as a joke). i didnt even want to look. with my second, we were so much more relaxed and curious about the process itself. we videotaped the birth, i touched the baby's head, we took pics of the placenta, dh cut the cord, etc. it was fun to feel relaxed about it and enjoy the whole process.

I'm gonna go with a NO on this one.
Although I'm sure my DH will want to hold it, take a picture of it, bounce it etc....I think he is looking forward to seeing all the gruesomeness as much as he is wanting to see the birth of his sons!

Absolutely, totally, 100% do want to see it! But like someone else said, I'm weird like that. Also, quite curious to see what all the commotion is about. I find the human body amazing & like to see odd stuff.

ETA: Whenever I have had surgery I asked to see either what was removed (ie: gallstones) or pics from ovarian surgery. Guess I'm just fascinated by the human body!
