Amazon???

I was thinking about doing a registry with Amazon besides BBB since we have so many family members outside NY and BBB doesn't have everything we want. Do you recommend it? What has been your experience? What did you like about it? What didn't you like about it?

Re: Amazon???

We are registering at Amazon and BBB. We haven't released our registries yet but so far my experience with Amazon has been great: their prices are dramatically better on some items (sometimes more than 50% off), they have a larger selection including colors/patterns not available elsewhere, you can mark items nice to have/like to have/need to have, you can add a comment to specific items, and if you add the universal registry button you can add items available anywhere online like other stores, etsy, etc, and most items have free shipping and easy returns.

I'm worried that some people would prefer to shop in-store so anything close in price I've put on our BBB registry, but I'm hoping people will buy from both. I personally would prefer to buy from an Amazon registry and either have the item sent to my house to bring to someone's shower or sent to the person free-shipping

Re: Amazon???

I registered with BRU, BBB and Amazon. Amazon mostly has duplicates of items on my other registries that are either cheaper or priced similarly. Things do go down in price on Amazon, which I really like. For example, my diaper bag is $90. At one point on Amazon it was less than $60.

I also like the thank you list feature. You can see who purchased what.

People can also reserve items on your registry that they plan to purchase or even purchase somewhere else.

Amazon also has a great selection of items. I also found the reviews extremely helpful.

Re: Amazon???

We had a great experience with it. Many people had items shipped directly to us which was super convenient. The registry completion was great (doesn't include everything, but does include a ton) and when you sign up for amazon mom (free) you get 3 months free 2-day shipping plus an extra month extension for every $50 you spend. I got a whole year free amazon prime 2-day shipping because I did my completion right after I signed up!

The prices are great and returns are a snap.

LMK if you have any specific questions.

I definitely recommend having an Amazon registry in addition to BBB, especially if you have a lot of out of towners. BBB charges a lot for shipping, and on Amazon any purchase will most likely ship for free.

The Amazon registry is also amazing for how they keep track of everything (Thank You list) for you. We have had more people, even those within distance of a BBB, choose to purchase from Amazon.

HTH!

Re: Amazon???

I have Amazon, BBB & BRU, Amazon is cheaper on A LOT of items, plus free shipping, it's easy to use, and I am finding more people are purchasing from there than the other 2 registries, probably cause it's cheaper lol
