Ut Oh!! Tooth Ache!!!
I know I need a filling. My tooth hurts with cold.... it's been going on all day today.
What are my options??? To have it done without Novocaine or anything? Or to wait it out about 3 more months??
I'm scared of needing a root canal.. but also scared of no meds and a filling.
I HATE the dentist!! I seriously get freaked out by going to one!!!!

I have a wonderful dentist who totally got me over my fears - I was a big scaredy cat - now I don't even flinch... just over the bill.
The later in the pregnancy you are the more options I think you have.
Last PG I had broken 3 teeth  (I'm a really bad grinder) and I was able to get work done.

You can get fillings done while pregnant, they use a novocaine that has no epinephrine in it so it's safe fir pregnancy, i just had a filling done Saturday. If it's sensitive to cold it sounds like a cavity, i would make an appointment to have it fixed. When i was pregnant with DD i had a spontaneous root fracture and had to have an upper premolar removed, lovely pregnancy hazard. Def go to the dentist!

really?? This is good news for me.
I know for a fact that it's a cavity. I have 3 cavities. I was told before I got pregnant about them. And I'm pretty positive this is one of them!!
And that experience you had sounds terrible. I'm sending you hugs for it...

Mr. Wonderful is in Valley Stream....
Dr. Brian Raskin - I am sure he has a website - he's all technologically advanced. feel free to FM me if you have any questions - really I couldn't say enough wonderful things about him - he has done so much to help me through the years.

I've had extensive dental work done while prego - in Jan I had a filling replaced - i actually did feel some of the work with the "lite" novicane and the dentist was extremely apologetic - I think it was just that particular tooth, because my prior pregnancy I had tooth pulled and an implant placed (it was a front tooth) and it didn't hurt. Bring your ipod and listen to your favorite music!

Holy!! we are not in the same league girl! I made them knock my asss out to have my wisdom teeth yanked!!!

i had 3 fillings done without novicane!!!
im pretty sure novicane is fine tho...my detist was just overly catious.

I got a cavity while I was in my 3rd tri....
Call your OB for their advice, first..
My OB said to make sure the dentist used a certain type of novicaine that was fine for pregnant women. When I went in to have it filled, we actually used NOTHING  bc my dentist wanted to stay on the conservative side. It didn't hurt so bad. Good Luck!
